Mid-February or sentimental moods
No, actually it's not me. It's the people around who are a bit too cought up in this mad February 14 thing. I was supposed to meet up some people tomorrow, ignoring of course the great significance of the day, but in the end it gets cancelled just in case someone has something planned. Ok, I had something planned, but it's far from being anything connected to my husband ;-)Ok, it seems February is quite a nice month, I can't deny that. Except for the annoying times when it snows and temperature gets under 0°C. Yes, in Brussels.
Last Friday for example, I had a gala dinner and party with the occasion of ending the European Commission stage. All very nice, fancy location, champagne reception, three course dinner. I didn't have to do too much with the organisation this time, it's quite nice to sit back and enjoy for once. I even went to the hairdresser before. Here's me and my dear gala partner, who made me the great honour of dancing with me. To put it politely, he doesn't do it that often...
I must admit I had quite some fun. Lots of free drinks, lots of comments on awfully dressed women, good desert, nice people around. It is obviously bad that it ends, but it's one of the things that you regret ending but you have to get over with. You can't be a trainee forever. Some people can, but I can't. I will soon make a nice post (hopefully) describing a bit more what the last 5 months meant for me, and how much fun, and stress, I had.
This Sunday, we also had our stage Football Tournament. Ok, this time I had something to do with the organisation, I got the main sponsor and helped around during the day. Well, I managed to kick some ball even if I hadn't explicitly planned it. Every team was meant to have at least one woman player. Some ended up on the day without, or even without enough players, so at some point I joined in. Total fun, and I love kicking men, especially by mistake. But of course the rest of the team was no good so we lost :-)
Soon I have to go out to a pub (that is what you do after work in Brussels) to celebrate the great ski trip I mentioned before. I also need to check again my calendar for this week, cause it looks extremely confusing and way too many things to do. So, I'll be back soon.
