Winter

For the global warming adepts, please note that there is actually winter outside. Seriously, for the last few days, after major storms that almost cost us the roof, it's been constanlty below 0°C, even during the day.

The nasty part is however, that it's just cold and that's it. As a colleague of mine nicely put it, it Belgium it rains all year around, but when it's cold enough to actually snow, it never happens.

For the rest, I'm mentally preparing to go to (another) party tonight. I'll get in for free, because I did some "consulting" work for the event organisation, and there's gonna be free Romanian food and drinks. Strange that even after earning my living for some years now, I am still mostly attracted by the words "free", "gratis", "gratuit", and the like. I mean, knowing that there's no such thing as "free", why pay money as well.

So, tomorrow after waking up after the party, I have my first practical driving lesson. That will be an experience. Not the driving itself, since I already took a few hours in Romania at some point, so I am no longer in the phase of "what's with those pedals under there". But it will take a lot of coffee to make me wake up at about 10am after a full night, remember to get off the train at the right station, walk to the driving school, drive, and all that with my eyes open. But then, that's what I'm training for: "free"-dom of movement. Told you there's something about me and "free".
